A 21-storey skyscraper added to the Manchester skyline which will provide a 300+ rooms for the hotel operator. The design was revised from suspended GRC to terracotta as an approach to address procurement and efficiencies in building sequence.

The tessellated but mirrored formats of terracotta banks create rhythm and help disrupt wind whilst offering aesthetic to the structure. Stability in the projections were a focus along with the ability to maintain in close proximity to the neighbouring buildings and infrastructure.

Fortis were engaged to provide detailed design sign-off and construction monitoring on behalf of the client.
