The site, formerly occupied by The Standard public house, boasts a prominent corner location at the intersection of Blackhorse Lane and Forrest Road, directly across from Blackhorse Lane station. The proposed design introduces a distinctive urban concept to this pivotal junction, characterised by a captivating array of facades featuring stepped planted terraces. These facades serve as a harmonious bridge between the established, low-rise residential structures along Forest Road to the east and the modern, taller buildings found within the Blackhorse Lane Masterplan to the west.

The carefully articulated massing of the building offers each floor its own private outdoor terrace, while the overall structure gracefully ascends, culminating in a captivating south-facing central courtyard adorned with lush landscaping. Adjacent to this courtyard are shared amenity spaces for the building’s residents, further enhancing the facade’s appeal.

The facade design is accentuated by meticulously crafted horizontal brick banding, which not only underscores the stepped architectural approach but also contributes to the building’s visual prominence. Elevated on a colonnade, the building not only defines its presence but also extends the public realm, creating an inviting environment for pedestrians both around and within the structure.
