The refurbishment of 17-19 Rochester Row sees the upgrading of a 1980’s office block in order to provide first class office space in Westminster.
V7 are supporting Meadow Partners in developing the building which will boast ‘best in class’ amenities and a roof terrace with views of parliament and Waterloo, including the London Eye.
Retention has been at the heart of this scheme with every wall and system being reviewed and recorded in detail to verify whether the extension of use is viable or, should be exchanged for sustainable upgrades. Furthermore, what’s really unique about this project is that the disassembly of the systems have also formed a part of the brief. So that future generations can upcycle as needed.
Over 500-tonnes has been taregeted as a carbon saving. The superstructure is being retained, existing brickwork reconditioned and new high performance curtain walling provided by Structura, with the addition of an extension and roof pavilions that create more space within the city.
